Maryland transfer DL Mosiah Nasili-Kite commits to Auburn football | Reports

AUBURN — Auburn football's defense is getting some much-needed help up front.

Former Maryland defensive lineman Mosiah Nasili-Kite, who spent the last three seasons with the Terrapins, reportedly committed to the Tigers on Saturday. Coach Hugh Freeze retweeted posts discussing Nasili-Kite's commitment, seemingly confirming the reports.

He's the second player to commit to Auburn on the day, as three-star cornerback Tyler Scott announced he was coming to the Plains during the All-American Bowl.

Nasili-Kite appeared in 27 games at Maryland and tallied 80 total tackles, nine sacks, two pass deflections and a forced fumble. Prior to that, he played one season at Independence Community College in Kansas after redshirting at Washington in 2018.

Nasili-Kite was a three-star weak-side defensive end coming out of Emerald Ridge High School in Puyallup, Washington. The 247Sports Composite tabbed him as the No. 1,053 overall player in the class of 2018 and the 57th-best player at his position. He was also rated as the No. 10 recruit in the state.

He received offers from Boise State, Utah and Washington State, among others, before committing to Washington.

After his one season at Independence, Nasili-Kite was ranked as the 96th-best player in junior college. He finished the 2019 season with 22 total tackles and a sack.

Nasili-Kite joins offensive tackles Dillon Wade (Tulsa) and Gunner Britton (Western Kentucky), tight end Rivaldo Fairweather (Florida International) and edge Elijah McAllister (Vanderbilt) as players who have transferred to Auburn since Freeze arrived in November.
