Maryland veterinarian helped rescue animals in war-torn Ukraine

A Maryland veterinarian went to war-torn Ukraine to care for displaced animals. Dr. Krista Magnifico returned from Ukraine days ago, and she's already back running the Jarrettsville Veterinary Center in Harford County. The veterinarian told 11 News she's still thinking of the faces she met 5,000 miles away. Magnifico spent the past two weeks in Ukraine, bringing with her medication and supplies. She paired up with a group rescuing animals, and while there, she saw shelters beyond capacity, struggling to keep up.
