Maryland weather: Showers and cooler temperatures forecast for Thursday

The Baltimore area is expected to get cooler temperatures Thursday as showers from yesterday’s storms gradually decrease and dissipate in the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

“Showers will likely continue through the morning especially along the Chesapeake Bay, then gradually decrease in coverage or dissipate during the afternoon,” NWS stated.

Showers and isolated severe thunderstorms with damaging wind gusts and large hit parts of the region Wednesday. There no major storm damages reported in Baltimore by NWS.

“Much of the area is beginning to dry out,” said NWS. “Severe threat and flood threat have ended aside from some lingering high water.”

The Baltimore and Annapolis areas got about half and inch of rain from Wednesday’s rain.

Temperatures are expected to be 15 to 20 degrees cooler than Wednesday’s temperatures. Motorists could experience patchy fog Thursday morning. Skies are cloudy with a high temperature of 73 degrees.

Showers are likely with possible thunderstorms after 3 p.m. in the Baltimore area.
