Marylanders get KN95 face masks at state COVID-19 testing sites

For the first time in months, Marylanders were able to go to a state-run COVID-19 testing site for something other than a test -- hundreds received medical-grade face masks Friday. All of the state-run vaccination and testing sites are distribution points going forward for Maryland's new supply of 20 million KN95 masks. Until Friday, many of the people who received masks said they didn't know how to get one. Public health experts emphasized that cloth and surgical-style masks are no match for the highly transmissible omicron variant.
