Marzoni’s has set an opening date for its new State College restaurant. What to know

After months of preparation, Marzoni’s Brick Oven & Brewing Co. is ready to open its first State College location.

The restaurant will open Thursday at 1215 N. Atherton St. (the former TGI Fridays), manager Mandy Bryner confirmed in a Facebook message.

Marzoni’s — a family-friendly restaurant that specializes in handmade brick oven pizzas, Italian American cuisine and beer from its own microbrewery — isn’t new to the region, with existing locations in Duncansville, Altoona, Mechanicsburg and Selinsgrove.

Customers can expect the same food and beer they’re familiar with at the other locations, “but this Marzoni’s offers a completely new makeover to both the restaurant and brand,” Bryner said.

Marzoni’s makes brick oven pizzas from start to finish in store, and positions the ovens in the dining area so visitors can see the entire process, Bryner said. Beer is brewed at the company’s flagship location in Duncansville, and Bryner said the State College restaurant will have 16 brews on tap.

There will be happy hour specials every day.

Marzoni’s will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. For more information and updates, visit Marzoni’s website or Facebook page.
