Mascot Bull Knocks Over Child During Race at College Baseball World Championship

A bullheaded mascot knocked over a child during a race in between innings at the NCAA Men’s College World Series on June 20 in Omaha, Nebraska.

Video recorded by Travis Bailey between innings of a game between Arkansas and Ole Miss shows children leading in a race against a variety of mascots along the edge of the baseball diamond at Charles Schwab Field.

“As they were coming around, a kid saw the mascot coming and tried to get in his way to slow him down,” Bailey told Storyful.

Durango, the red bull mascot of the University of Nebraska Omaha Mavericks, didn’t slow down. Instead, his unbudging stride bounces the child off him, onto the field.

“After the kid got smashed, the Creighton Bluejay hurdled the kid instead of stopping to help,” Bailey added.

The video goes on to show staff members check in on the child, as he slowly gets up to continue running. Credit: Travis Bailey via Storyful
