·2 min read

Good morning, people of Brooklyn! It's your host, Patrick Murray here with three fresh headlines to get your day going.

First, today's weather:

Sun mixing with clouds; cold. High: 31 Low: 27.

Here are the top stories in Brooklyn today:

  1. A Brooklyn judge reinstated New York's mask mandate earlier this week. Justice Robert J. Miller of the Appellate Division, Second Department on Monroe Place, blocked a ruling by Justice Thomas Rademaker of Nassau County Supreme Court, who said that a mask mandate went against our state's constitution. Gov. Kathy Hochul initially reinstated the mask mandate earlier this month during a surge in COVID-19 cases. (Brooklyn Daily Eagle)

  2. A two-alarm fire broke out early on Wednesday morning in Williamsburg. The FDNY responded to the fire at 2 Campus Place at 2:45 a.m. and were able to rescue a person from the second story of the building. The victims were treated by paramedics at the scene, and the fire was under control by 3:45 a.m. (AMNY)

  3. A man died of his injuries sustained in a collision with a garbage truck on Jan. 25. The 55-year-old crash victim was riding an electric scooter on Ditmas Avenue when he collided with the garbage truck. The garbage truck driver sustained no injuries, and the incident remains under investigation. (AMNY)
