Masked, furry ‘thieves’ swipe tacos left at doorstep by DoorDash, Florida video shows
No one can resist Taco Tuesday — including animals.
When West Palm Beach resident Caterina Sevares was in the mood for tacos at about 2 a.m. Feb. 13, she placed an order on DoorDash, she told WOFL.
She hopped in the shower as she waited for her food from Talkin’ Tacos to arrive, she told the outlet. It came earlier than she expected, so she had it sit outside her door for about 10 minutes until she finished her shower, WOFL reported.
When she opened her door, she saw a taco massacre.
The side of the bag was ripped open, and her food was strewn across the outdoor hallway, a TikTok taken by Sevares shows.
Her video pans to the other end of the hall, where a group of fuzzy, masked bandits waits patiently for her to leave.
“I just wanted my tacos man,” Sevares says in the video. “Why he gotta square up like that?”
The bravest raccoon approached Sevares and stood on its hind legs, peeking around to see if there were any taco morsels remaining.
Behind the raccoon, a legion of others sat on the stairs, hopefully watching, the video shows.
“Bro raccoons run my apartment complex, I can’t even,” Sevares said in her video caption.
The TikTok went viral and has more than 4 million views as of Feb. 15.
Talkin’ Tacos, the restaurant that provided the tasty meal, shared Sevares’ video on its Instagram page, and said “When even the raccoons can’t resist Talkin’ Tacos, you know it’s the real deal.”
The restaurant sent Sevares a gift card for replacement tacos, she told WOFL.
“That was your doordash driver, he just wanted to make sure the food was good,” one person commented on TikTok.
“He came back and was like you might as well let me have the rest,” another said.
“The more I watch, the more raccoons I notice,” one person commented on Talkin’ Tacos’ Instagram post.
West Palm Beach is about 70 miles north of Miami.
