Mason Hughes steps down at CVC

VISALIA, Calif. (KGPE) – The Central Valley Christian High School football team went 15-1 last season, winning a state championship in Division 2-A.

Mason Hughes was the head coach of that team; he has been the Cavaliers’ head coach since 2009.

Until now.

Hughes has stepped down, though he will still work at the school, according to the Visalia Times-Delta, which is also reporting that he is joining the football staff at nearby College of the Sequoias.

In a social media post on Wednesday, CVC thanked Mason Hughes for building its football program. He was 114-65 in 15 seasons as the Cavaliers’ head coach.
