After appearing on NBC's "The Voice" in 2020, a Greater Cincinnati singer is taking his talents to another show.

Michael Williams, a Mason native, will appear on the Feb. 19 season premiere of ABC's "American Idol," auditioning in front of judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie, a representative for the show confirmed to The Enquirer. Williams also posted about his appearance via Instagram last month.

The local singer, who started taking vocal lessons at 6 years old, was a contestant on season 18 of "The Voice." He was coached by pop star Nick Jonas. Unfortunately, Williams was eliminated after a Wildcard Instant Save Sing-Off during the live playoff round of the show.

The season premiere of "American Idol" will air at 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, on ABC. The episode will also be available to stream on Hulu the next day.
