RICHMOND, Ind. — After sitting out the previous game, nobody could seem to tackle Mason Romack in Hagerstown’s 56-14 win over Union City Sept. 2. He only carried the ball seven times, but he still made it all the way to the end zone more times than he was tackled to the ground.

Romack finished the game with 259 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Aiden Grover also had a solid game in the backfield, rushing for 82 yards and two touchdowns on seven carries. His performance would be the highlight of the offense on most days, but Romack’s 37 yards per carry made Grover’s 11.7 — still quite efficient — look elementary.

The Tigers’ rushing game was so unstoppable that they only passed the ball one time, and even that was perfect. Quarterback Kayne Ervin finished the game 1-for-1 with a 16-yard scoring pass to Collin Beaty. That duo combined for another 108 rushing yards and a touchdown

Romack, Ervin and Beaty each intercepted a pass on defense as well. Peyton Meyer led the defensive charge with 18 tackles and a forced fumble.

Northeastern pass game too much for Winchester

Just as Hagerstown dominated with its rushing attack, Northeastern did the same with its passing game last Friday. Carson Terrell completed 13 passes for 312 yards and four touchdowns against Winchester. Noah Ammerman was Terrell’s favorite target, racking up 180 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Ammerman also found the end zone with a rushing touchdown. Eli Hemmelgarn had two touchdowns on the day, one rushing and one receiving. Logan White was the third receiver to benefit from one of Terrell’s scoring passes.

Dylan Isaacs and Calvin Berhalter led the way defensively with 13 tackles apiece. Berhalter also forced the team’s only fumble. Ethan Neeley wasn’t far behind with 11 tackles, and Blayne Bry added 10. Isaacs, Caleb Harmon and Ty Killen each recorded one sack.

Centerville finally drops a regular season game
