Jan. 5—After the Mississippi Delta and south Chicago, Waltham, Mass., is regarded as one of the hotbeds of blues music. Or it COULD be if momentum continues to build for native son Seth Rosenbloom.

A singer/guitarist/songwriter whose background in classical violin and a performance merit scholarship to the Berklee School of Music isn't exactly the sort of bio one associates with those Blind Lemons and Juniors and Hound Dogs, Rosenbloom nevertheless learned early on that music is a conduit through which emotions flow — and, for him, that's best expressed by blues.

Indeed, as evidenced by his first full length recording, "Keep On Turning," Rosenbloom is a fine interpreter of material by B.B. King, Freddie King and Elmore James as well as a composer whose songs fit seamlessly into the oeuvre.

Rosenbloom brings his band to Norwich Wednesday for the latest Blues On Broadway concerts in the Norwich Arts Center's Donald Oat Theater.

Seth Rosenbloom, 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Donald Oat Theater, Norwich Arts Center, 62 Broadway, Norwich; Blues On Broadway series; $20 NAC members, $25 adults, $23 seniors/military/students; www.norwicharts.org/events, (860) 887-2789.
