Massachusetts is the best state in America to have a baby, according to a new study.

WalletHub analysts compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia across 32 key measures of cost, health care accessibility, and baby-friendliness to compile its 2022′s Best & Worst States to Have a Baby list.

The personal-finance website says it data set ranged from hospital conventional-delivery charges to annual average infant-care costs to pediatricians per capita.

The Bay State edged out Vermont to earn the top ranking. Minnesota, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island rounded out the top five places to have a baby.

Here’s how Massachusetts rated out, according to WalletHub:

  • 13th – Hospital Cesarean-Delivery Charges

  • 22nd – Hospital Conventional-Delivery Charges

  • 3rd – Infant Mortality Rate

  • 14th – Rate of Low Birth-Weight

  • 18th – Midwives & OB-GYNs per Capita

  • 14th – Pediatricians & Family Medicine Physicians per Capita

  • 22nd – Child-Care Centers per Capita

  • 1st – Parental-Leave Policy Score

Connecticut and Maine also received high rankings.
