Massachusetts restaurant ranked among ‘top 100 burger spots’ in America
Massachusetts is home to one of the ‘top 100 burger spots’ in the United States, according to a new ranking.
In celebration of National Burger Day on May 28, Yelp released its list of the top restaurants to grab a burger in 2023 after analyzing its “patty-loving community’s ratings and reviews.”
“Forget everything you know about America’s favorite comfort fare,” Yelp said in its ranking. “It’s clear that a ‘burger revolution’ is underway!”
In assembling its ranking, Yelp said it spotted a number of trends this year: “BBQ rules,” “plant-based sizzles,” “size matters,” “east-west is best,” “patties your way,” and “it’s all about the buns.”
Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q in Atlanta, Georgia, was crowned the top burger joint in the country with nearly 2,500 five-star reviews.
“Instead of a typical ground-beef patty, you get a hefty helping of chopped Angus beef brisket, along with peppery bacon, melted house-made pimento cheese, jalapeno mayo, tomato, red onion, and pickles on a toasted brioche bun. All those flavors and textures have made the Fox Bros. ‘burger’ the best in Atlanta and the country,” Yelp wrote.
Veggie Galaxy in Cambridge represented Massachusetts in the ranking, checking in as the 93rd-best burger spot in the nation.
The restaurant, which was once featured on the hit show “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives,” is located at 450 Massachusetts Avenue. There are five different burgers on the menu, including the Galaxy Burger, Buffalo Chick’n Burger, Kendall Burger, Portobello Patty Melt, and Mac ‘N Stack.
“Classic American diner-style food with retro vibes, and everything is vegetarian! I was impressed by the large menu with a variety of dishes that can be made vegan, and I was even more impressed by the food,” a happy Yelper wrote of Veggie Galaxy.

76. Organika Kitchen Southport, Southport, Connecticut
96. The Farmhouse Tap & Grill, Burlington, Vermont
