Massillon climbs Associated Press high school football state poll; Lake remains, Fairless appears

On the strength of knocking off defending Division I state champion and last week's top-ranked Division I team Lakewood St. Edward, the Massillon Tigers jumped back up in this week's Associated Press Division II state poll.

The Tigers (4-1), who endured a puzzling drop from No. 4 to No. 10 last week in the poll, are up to a tie for third this week. Undefeated Lake remains in the top 10 of Division II, while Stark County's only other unbeaten team, Fairless, makes its first appearance in the Division V poll.

Alliance, which made its first appearance in the poll last week, surprisingly dropped out this week after an impressive 34-7 win at Canton Central Catholic.
