Massillon football hosting 7-on-7, Big Man Challenge at Paul Brown Tiger Stadium this spring
MASSILLON — A version of spring football is coming to Massillon this May. And a reigning state champion will be taking part in it, too.
Massillon coach Nate Moore announced Thursday evening the program will host a Spring 7-on-7 and Big Man Challenge at 5 p.m. May 21 at Paul Brown Tiger Stadium.
Pickerington North, Findlay and OHSAA Division IV state champion Glenville also will be participating in this spring showcase. This is another recruiting tool for college coaches and scouts to get a close glimpse of some of the top prospects in the state.

The Tigers won a regional title last season and reached the state semifinals in Division II. Some of their top returning starters include linebacker Dorian Pringle, and tight end Nolan Davenport. They each have multiple Division I college offers. This will be a small sample of what this season's Tigers will look like before their opener against Valdosta (Ga) on Aug. 18.
“Fired up for this opportunity for our players,” Moore wrote in his Twitter post.

The Glenville Tarblooders are coming off a perfect 15-0 season and became the first Cleveland public school to win a state championship. Glenville will return to Massillon for Week 1 to face Dinwiddie (Va.) during the NE Ohio vs. America Showcase, which is highlighted by the Massillon-Valdosta game. Glenville is loaded with Division I prospects, including a five-star cornerback Bryce West, who carries over 30 offers.
Headlining for the Findlay Trojans is their quarterback Ryan Montgomery. He holds more than two dozen offers as a sophomore and will could be one of the top prospects in the Class of 2025.
“I can’t wait to compete against these top-notch programs,” Stefan Adams, Findlay coach, wrote on his Twitter page. "Looking forward to seeing all levels of college coaches in attendance.”
Pickerington North (7-5) has a history of producing Division I talent in the past and has consistently made runs in the playoffs. College coaches who plan on attending must contact Moore to RSVP ahead of time.
This is the latest showcase created by Moore and Massillon. The school hosted a college showcase in late January inside Paul L. David Indoor Facility for Stark County seniors to get in front of college coaches from Division I and II schools. Also, the annual Elite 11 will return to Massillon on April 23.
