Massillon Museum sets December events

MASSILLON – The Massillon Museum has announced the following events for December:

  • Wednesday, 6 to 7:30 p.m: Virtual Portrait Demo & Discussion with New York-based Artist Hodaya Louis. The interactive Zoom program is free for Massillon Museum members; $10 for nonmembers. Reservations required: 330-833-4061, ext. 110 or

  • Dec. 4, 6-8 p.m.: Members’ Holiday Open House, free to all adult Massillon Museum members. Reservations: 330-833-4061.

  • Dec. 4, noon-2 p.m.: Do the Mu – Paper Snowflakes with Diane Belfiglio. The free in-person workshop has family-friendly activities for all ages. No registration required. Supplies provided.

  • Dec. 8, 6-7 p.m.: Children’s Holiday Party. Reservations required: 330-833-4061.

  • Dec. 11, 11 a.m.: Virtual Plate Photography History & Workshop with Greg Martin & Mandy Altimus Stahl via Zoom. Stahl will present the history of plate photography, and Martin will demonstrate the process. Free for Massillon Museum members. Reservations required: 330-833-4061, ext 110, or

  • Dec. 11: Susan Byrnes: The Viscosity Series exhibition opens. Pigmented rubber on wood exhibition continues through Jan. 26 in Studio M. An artist’s reception will be 5-7 p.m. Jan. 22.

  • Dec. 11 and 18, 4:30-5:30 p.m.: Two-Part Ornament Workshop. Make and glaze your own ornament for the holidays. Cost $40 ($35/Massillon Museum member), includes all supplies. Register: or 330-833-4061.

  • Dec. 18, 5-7 p.m.: Extended hours, all galleries open. Free admission. Lepley & Co. on site for paid workshop. Coincides with Massillon’s "Last Saturday" event.

  • Dec. 19, 2:30 p.m.: Pet Photo Portraits and Ornaments with Anna Young and Sandi Phillips. Free event for Massillon Museum pet members; new members (pets $10). Pet members must be well-tempered and leashed. Pet members will make and take a holiday memento.
