Neither side has been able to achieve significant progress, the MoD adds.
The British Ministry of Defense noted that while Russia is concentrating its offensive on the central sector of Donbas, it remains on the defensive on its flanks.
At the same time, Ukrainian troops have recently achieved some success, striking back in the southwestern part of Kherson Oblast, including restoring a bridgehead on the eastern bank of the Inhulets River.
"With the frontage of the occupied zone stretching for over 500 km, both Russia and Ukraine face similar challenges in maintaining a defensive line while freeing up capable combat units for offensive operations," the MoD said.
In the occupied Kherson Oblast, Russian occupation authorities are forcibly coordinating their administration with that of the Russian Federation, introducing the Russian ruble as a means of payment and hiring Russian teachers to implement the Russian curriculum and language in schools.

"Russia will highly likely claim its occupation of Kherson as evidence of delivering improved governance and living standards to the Ukrainian people," the ministry added.
