'Massive' Carpet Python Lunges at Brisbane Snake Catcher

An Australian snake catcher narrowly avoided a nasty bite from a “massive” carpet python he was removing from the backyard of a home in North Lakes, Queensland.

Joshua Castle, who runs JC’s Catch And Release, was called to an address in North Lakes on May 22 to remove the large snake from behind a perimeter fence.

Footage shared by Castle shows him lift the “very old” snake out from behind a fence before the snake wraps itself around his neck and lunges at him.

The video ends with Castle removing the snake from the premises having escaped injury. Credit: Joshua Castle via Storyful
