Massive infographic tells you everything you didn’t want to know about selfies

Sony’s Xperia C3 is a new Android smartphone whose main purpose is to improve your whole selfie experience, and Sony has released a massive infographic alongside Xperia C3 news in an effort to convince you that selfies are a lot more important than you think and should be taken very seriously – and that probably also means buying a smartphone that can do justice to self-taken photographs of oneself with/without friends.

Titled “The Rise of Selfies,” the gigantic infographic reveals the first such photo may have been taken in 1839 by Robert Cornelius, who used the daguerreotype process to take what is believed to be the first self-photograph.

However, only in 2004 the #selfie hashtag emerged on Flickr, with the word “skyrocketing in use” by 17,000% since 2012.

The infographic reveals many stats regarding the people who take selfies, how many times per week they do it, and how much attention from social networks they get. Sony has also documented the top 6 things people would retouch in real-time before sharing their selfies, and detailed the best camera functions that can help out with taking better selfies – obviously, these points are closely related to the Xperia C3’s selfie-oriented cameras and software features.

The full infographic follows below, also revealing the top 10 selfies cities in the world, and the top 6 selfie trends.
