‘Masters of the Air’ screening for veterans at New Orleans’ National World War II Museum

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — At the National World War II Museum on Friday, Jan. 19, active duty military, reservists, veterans and their families will be treated to a special advance screening of the Apple TV + series, “Masters of the Air.”

The nine-episode series is produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks, and it tells the story of World War II bomber pilots. WGNO’s Kenny Lopez gives us a preview.

The new Apple TV + series, “Masters of the Air” is taking flight with a special screening hosted by USAA at the National World War II Museum.

“USAA is hosting a great event to honor these local military currently serving, the veterans, and their families,” said Retired Colonel Dave Morrissey with the Air Force and USAA.

The new series is based on a true story of the 8 Air Force and 100 bomb group in World War II.

“It’s a tremendous mini-series that tells the story of our airmen in WWII,” Morrissey said.

Morrissey with the Air Force and USAA was in attendance at the special screening.

“These stories need to be told. Let’s tell the stories, let’s inspire the next generation to serve,” Morrissey said.

USAA is offering a sweepstakes live from January 22 through February 21 to give away 100 “prize packs” that include: one pair of Apple Air Pods 2nd Generation and a two-month subscription to “Apple TV +.”
