Match campaign and radiothon helps Coshocton United Way reach its $300,000 campaign goal

COSHOCTON − The United Way of Coshocton County has reached its goal of $300,000 for the 2022-2023 campaign, thanks to the generous donations of the community.

The final surge in money came from this year's campaign corporate sponsor, Genesis Healthcare System and CEO Matt Perry. Perry agreed to personally match additional donations made up to $8,000 to help the agency reach the goal for the campaign ending on Aug. 31.

The United Way and Genesis and held a week-long Dash for the Goal radiothon on WTNS Radio last week, in which donors called the radio station to make pledges. Buckeye Brine, the Bechtol Fund of the Coshocton Foundation, Babcock Trucking and Excavating, the Butcher Family, the Wallace family and other donors supported the match campaign.

Although the goal has been met, the United Way will continue to accept any other funds for the current campaign until Aug. 31.

“We are thankful for the assistance of Matt Perry and the Genesis Healthcare Systems team for helping us reach our campaign goal, our partner agencies who shared their stories during our radio event, the WTNS staff and Mike Bechtol for hosting us on the talk show for the week and, most importantly, the Coshocton community for continually supporting our United Way through their generous donations," said Executive Director Emma Mitchell.

Board President Steve Oster added, “To be part of something as impactful as United Way’s campaign and to reach our goal is because of the support of the community. I was able to witness firsthand how people open their hearts and pour out every ounce of thoughtfulness and compassion simply for the betterment of others. That’s what makes United Way so great; people helping people to make a community stronger which makes us united more than ever."
