Countryfile's Matt Baker, who recently joined Instagram, has given his followers a behind-the-scenes insight into the realities of living on a farm — and it's sure to put a smile on your face.

In a recent post, the presenter shared an image of a sheep from his farm standing in the middle of his family's utility room, after it had wandered in through an open door. His post read: "Just rang home - my daughter said "mum's going to send you a picture of the utility room... don't worry everything is now sorted" #sheep #surprise #farmlife #hampshiredown #wasntexpectingthat."

Many of his followers were quick to comment on the post. One said: "Just a normal day, in the Baker household?" while another said, "This has made me smile smile and smile this morning!"

The presenter, who lives on a farm in Hertfordshire with his wife and two children, uses his Instagram to open-up about farm life with his fans, with videos of chickens to throwbacks of his two dogs as puppies.

Earlier this week, Matt also shared another cute video of his Black Labrador, Annie, standing in the garden carrying a watering can. "Wondered where the watering can had gone," Matt said on the upload.

In an interview with The Express earlier this year, the presenter revealed that his farm and animals is what makes life special. "For me work is a job, but the rural lifestyle, that’s my life. The country idyll is not just a dream for me, it’s the reality. The minute I’m off air I’m straight in my car and back home as quick as possible.

We’ve got sheep, chickens, dogs, a cat, tropical fish… We’ve also got orchards and paddocks, so if I’m not cutting the grass, I’m training the sheep. Or I’m in the wood yard building something," Matt said.
