Matt Duchene scores twice as Predators top Detroit Red Wings for second win in a row

Eeli Tolvanen was the latest Nashville Predators player to hit the COVID list.

The forward was placed there Saturday morning, ahead of his team’s 4-1 victory against the Detroit Red Wings at Bridgestone Arena.

Nick Cousins' power-play goal with 7 minutes, 14 seconds left in the second period broke a scoreless tie. Matt Duchene added another goal less than two minutes later to make it 2-0 Predators. It was Duchene's first of two goals in the game.

Adam Erne cut the Predators' lead in half with 1:09 left in the second when he scored almost immediately after exiting the penalty box.

Filip Forsberg made it 3-1 with 9:16 left in the third, with his team-best 20th goal.

Duchene's empty-net goal sealed it for the Predators.

The Predators ended a four-game losing streak Thursday, when Roman Josi set the franchise record for assists.

Nashville is 26-14-3. Detroit is 18-18-6.
