Matters of Graves Importance: Kenworth Truck parade this weekend

Saturday is the Kenworth Chillicothe Truck Parade and will celebrate the Kenworth 100th anniversary. Last year the parade featured more than 50 new, classic, and customized Kenworth trucks showcased by drivers from 28 states and Canada. Head downtown at dusk to see what they have in store for us this year and after the parade enjoy the music of Scott Collier and his friends from Nashville.

Trivia is back at Old Capitol Brewing and this week's theme is "Name That Tune + Music Facts.” Up to six people can be on a team and the fun begins at 6:30 p.m. You can catch Micah Kesselring at Steiner’s Speakeasy and Ben True at The Page both starting at 7 p.m.

Friday evening local favorite Zac McFadden takes the stage at Steiner’s at 8 p.m. The Cozy Inn Bar & Grill brings back fan favorite Hunter Jordan at 9 p.m. and Danny Hines turns up the volume in the taproom at OCB at 7 p.m. If you are feeling like you want to get out of town head to Jackson and Stockroom601 for karaoke with Cameron Mitchell.

“Top Down, Kitties Out! Bingo Bash & Jeep Giveaway” is Saturday at Creekside Occasions hosted by Cats & Company and Grateful Hearts Senior Dog Rescue. I will be your friendly number caller. Bingo sessions are at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Food and drinks will be available for purchase and a cash bar will be on site. Other offerings are a 50/50 drawing, a Jeep giveaway, and raffle items. All proceeds will benefit animals in our community. Fifty West Brewing Company and host Bill Schere invite the community to join in on a public drum circle at 6 p.m. Patrick's Pub welcomes the Ashley Huffer Duo at 7 p.m. Hotel guests and the public are welcome.

On Sunday the Pump House Center for the Arts presents their Juneteenth celebration starting at noon. The event features many vendors inside, food trucks, and speakers around 3 p.m. celebrating Juneteenth. An outside, tented area will be available for program speakers and socialization.

Don’t forget the Locals Only summer series on Tuesday evening on the patio at Steiner’s and trivia at the Pour House with me on Wednesday.

Looking ahead…LoriG Comedy returns to Terrace 27 at The Pour House at Machinery Hall on Saturday, June 24. Join me as I welcome Niki Ryan, Chris Siemer, and Jesse Nutt to the rooftop stage. General admission AND VIP tickets are available at https://pour-house-at-machinery-hall-inc.square.site/events.

Join LoriG Comedy for an evening of hilarious stand-up comedy at First Capital Enterprises with Shelterhouse Laughs on July 8. Comics include Brian Harris, Misty Vacariello, Mark Perkins, and (me) headliner Lori Graves. Up In Smoke food truck will be on site starting at 7 p.m. Showtime is 8 p.m. Tables for six are $50 and single tickets are $12.
