Matthew 25: Ministries traveling south to help those impacted by this weekend’s deadly storms

Matthew 25: Ministries, the humanitarian aid and disaster relief organization headquartered near Cincinnati, is deploying its disaster response team to Mississippi to help those impacted by this weekend’s severe storms and tornadoes.

The organization’s disaster response team and fleet, partnering with Proctor & Gamble, departed Sunday afternoon with trucks loaded with personal care products, household cleaning supplies, baby items, bottled water and first aid items, according to a spokesperson.

The team will distribute products and provide laundry and mobile charging services throughout the area, the organization said on its website.

“The devastation from this storm is heartbreaking and will take years to recover from,” said Tim Mettey, Matthew 25: Ministries’ CEO. “Mississippi is an area that we have responded to before and we are in contact with our partners to see how we can best assist them with relief and recovery. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those who have been impacted by these catastrophic storms.”

The towns of Rolling Fork and Silver City were among those hard hit in Mississippi. The storms destroyed homes, damaged neighborhoods and left thousands without power.

At least 25 people were killed, according to federal, state and local officials.
