Two of Texas' favorite sons are teaming up once again. But there will presumably be less drug-fueled battling of demons than when the last two shared center stage on the small screen.

It was announced Tuesday that Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson will star in a comedy that will stream on Apple TV+. No release date was announced for the yet-to-be-titled series, which will include 10 30-minute episodes.

The University of Texas' minister of culture and the vegan and cannabis advocate have a friendship that dates back decades, having appeared in films like 1999's "EdtV" and most notably in the HBO critical hit "True Detective," the show that launched 1,000 memes and made us consider the meaning of time as a flat circle.

An announcement describes the show as “a heartfelt odd couple love story" wherein the duo's "friendship is tested when their combined families attempt to live together on Matthew’s ranch in Texas.” No other details were released, although an Apple rep told the Stateman "it’s a scripted comedy series."

The show is the brainchild of "Schitt’s Creek" executive producer David West Read, who knows his way around familial fish-out-of-water comedies. McConaughey and Harrelson will serve as executive producers on the show.

McConaughey can be seen, well heard, later this week, when Netflix releases "Agent Elvis," for which the Austin FC and Moody Center partner voices the title character.

The Uvalde native has kept a relatively low on-screen profile since the beginning of the pandemic, with only voiceover credits in the last few years, while mostly appearing in people's consciences as an advocate for gun responsibility, a flirter with the idea of a gubernatorial run, and the author of "Greenlights," a change-of-pace memoir that serves more as philosophic diary that Hollywood tell-all.
