Matthew Perry lowers his penthouse price to $27 million, his Malibu pad is $15 million

Matthew Perry has dropped the price of his opulent 40th-floor penthouse in the Century Tower in Los Angeles to $27 million, after recently putting his Malibu home on the market for nearly $15 million and purchasing a downsized $6 million property in Pacific Palisades.

The Century Tower holding, purchased by Perry in 2017, was listed last year at $35 million.

Perry, who starred in the sitcom “Friends,” owns the entire 40th floor, a sprawling 9,318 square feet of living space with ceiling-to-floor views of Los Angeles. It has a huge living room with two fireplaces and a massive master suite. In all, there are four bedrooms and eight baths, a game room and home theater. A chef’s kitchen offers island seating, a table for casual dining and a separate dining room with glass walls and tremendous views. The place has four terraces, too.

Designed by Robert A. M. Stern Architects in 2009, the Century Tower’s residents have included Paula Abdul, Rihanna and Candy Spelling, widow of filmmaker Aaron Spelling, according to TopTenRealEstateDeals.com.

The gated Century building, 1 W. Century Drive, soars over four acres of lush private gardens.

“Hovering above the city like a floating palace is Penthouse 40, the Mansion in the Sky that occupies the entire 40th floor of the exclusive Century building,” according to the listing.

The interior “has been transformed by noted interior designer LM Pagano into a stunning palette of textures and colors that are both contemporary and classic, comprising a bold statement worthy of the most discerning buyer,” the listing states.

Amenities include 24-hour concierge service, 75-foot-long swimming pool, yoga and Pilates studios and a wine-storage facility.

The listing agents for Perry’s penthouse are Greg Holcomb and Cassandra Petersen of Compass, Los Angeles.

In Malibu, the “Friends” star is selling the beachfront pad where he hunkered down during much of the COVID-19 crisis for $14.95 million, according to Variety. Perry purchased the home in 2011 for $12 million, according to Architectural Digest.

The 5,500-square-foot beach house, built in 1960, is a two-level home has four bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. Walls of glass open to spacious decks and look straight out to the ocean. There’s also a state-of-the-art movie theater.

“This architectural triumph features a stunning open loft-like floor plan with walls of glass that open to endless views of the Pacific,” the listing reads.

Josh Flagg, known for his role on the Bravo television series “Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles,” of Rodeo Realty holds the Malibu listing.

Flagg told Architectural Digest that the Malibu home is especially desirable for wealthy buyers who want refuge from the coronavirus pandemic.

“I have sold several homes on the water in Malibu,” he told the magazine, “but it is super hard to find something of this quality level. In today’s market, the inventory is low because everyone is flocking to buy beach houses as they want to get out of the city.”
