Maury’s Ahmarian Granger, a versatile athlete regarded as a three-star recruit, committed to Old Dominion on Saturday, making his announcement on Twitter.

Granger, a 5-11, 165-pounder, played multiple positions, including quarterback, during his junior season. He is rated a three-star recruit at wide receiver by rivals.com and 247Sports, and 247Sports ranks him 27th in the state in the Class of 2022.

Granger picked the Monarchs after also receiving scholarship offers from N.C. State, Pitt, Nebraska, Arkansas, East Carolina and Liberty.

Granger was a first-team All-Tidewater selection this past season as a junior after accounting for 1,264 yards and 15 touchdowns at wide receiver and quarterback. He also played defensive back.

The Commodores (6-2) fell to Highland Springs in the Class 5 semifinals.

Granger joins an ODU recruiting class already with three commitments from South Hampton Roads: Oscar Smith quarterback Ethan Vasko, Deep Creek lineman Ryan Nolan and Kempsville defensive end Jaylon White.

Vasko is the first Abe Goldblatt All-Tidewater Player of the Year to commit to Old Dominion out of high school.
