Maury County schools names Katrina Davis as new Federal Programs Director

Maury County Public Schools has named Katrina Davis as its new director of federal programs.

Davis began her education career at East Elementary School in 1997 as a classroom teacher. In 2000, Davis moved to Centerville Elementary School as a classroom teacher, later becoming assistant principal and then in 2013 as principal.

In 2015, Davis became the Title I Facilitator at Riverside Elementary School. In 2016, Davis became the Federal Programs Director and K-5 Supervisor in Hickman County. In July of 2021, Davis was named the Federal Programs Coordinator for Maury County Public Schools.

“It is an honor to be chosen to serve Maury County teachers, students, and families in this role," Davis said in a press release. "I plan to honor the district’s former Federal Programs Director and carry out the vision and direction our team has been working on in federal programs; to best serve the students of our district and improve academic achievement.“

Davis received a Bachelor of Science in Education from Middle Tennessee State University in 1996 and a Master of Arts in Education/Educational Leadership in 2005 from Austin Peay University.

Davis has served in many capacities during her career in education, including a teacher mentor, new teacher orientation, teacher professional development activities, parent advisory committee, student-teacher placements, district strategic planning, new principal mentor, supervisor of district ELA coach, science and social studies coach and new teacher coach.

"We are very excited to name Mrs. Davis as our Federal Program Director," Maury County Superintendent Lisa Ventura said. "Mrs. Davis has an impressive background in education and federal programs that will ensure the success of our students and families."
