'May the 4th be with you' on Star Wars Day in New York City

STORY: Nore Gutierrez and his five children dressed up in their favorite "Star Wars" characters.

Kylo Ren is Gutierrez's favorite character "because he battles good and evil within him."

Darth Vader is his 15-year-old daughter Mila's favorite character because, "I like the way he goes back and forth from evil to good and fighting that inner battle."

For 32-year-old Dave Sepulveda, "Star Wars" is "a classic tale. It's a hero's journey, a boy becomes a man and then a Jedi and takes down the bad people. It's an adventure that anyone can get behind."

"The Fans Strike Back" features over 600 "Star Wars" collectable items including life-size figures, models, sculptures, figurines, photos, posters and costumes from the "Star Wars" films like Darth Vader, Darth Sidious, Chewbacca, Jabba the Hutt, Yoda, Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Han Solo and Boba Fett.

Daniel Prada is the man behind the largest "Star Wars" fan collection.

"He just wanted to give his large collection back to the world for other fans to see," said Brianna Bursey, "The Fans Strike Back" assistant general manager. "A lot of these are really rare collectibles that you won't really get to see anywhere else. It's just a chance for fans that don't have the funds or whatever to own an entire collection, have a chance to just come and see what the other collectors have gathered."

Visitors are immersed in the way of the Jedi and the dark side of the Force.

"It's one of those things that I think just really translates over generations," said Bursey. "I know I started getting into 'Star Wars' just from my dad. He was a huge fan, so now I'm into it and I pass it on to all my friends. I think that the story itself and the characters are very relatable, regardless of age. So it's easy for anyone of all ages to cling on to and love."

Fans can visit the "galaxy far, far away" through June.
