Mayor fires back after administrator nominee rejected

Tensions are rising at Baltimore City Hall after a City Council committee rejected Mayor Brandon Scott's pick for city administrator. Faith Leach has been serving in the role since January on an acting basis after the departure of Christopher Shorter, who left the role at the end of 2022 to become the new county executive for Prince William County, Virginia. Four committee members voted against giving Leach the job on a permanent basis and two voted in favor.
