Who is the mayor of Litchfield Park? What to know about Tom Schoaf

Mayor Tom Schoaf was first elected in 2006. He was reelected in 2008, 2010, 2014, 2018 and 2022. His current term will expire in 2027.

Schoaf is originally from South Bend, Indiana. He moved to Litchfield Park in 1980 with his wife, Shirly, and their three children when he became president of a local manufacturing business in Goodyear.

Litchfield Park was, at the time, a small community surrounded by desert and farmland. The Schoaf Family continues to reside in the area and the extended family now includes six grandchildren.

Schoaf has been involved in several business endeavors that have taken him around the world. He was active in groups such as the Litchfield Park Youth Association, Little League and AYSO soccer. He served on the Litchfield Elementary Governing Board and the original Litchfield Park City Council.

He is currently active on the Maricopa Association of Governments Economic Development Committee. He serves on several other boards including the Arizona League of Cities and Towns and Abrazo Hospital West Campus.

Schoaf graduated with a bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineering and Juris Doctor from the University of Notre Dame. He is licensed to practice law in Indiana and Arizona and has a private law practice on the west side of Phoenix.
