Mayor of Manta, Ecuador Intubated and Transferred After COVID-19 Diagnosis

The Mayor of Manta, Ecuador, Agustín Intriago, was transferred to a hospital in Guayaquil on Friday, December 18 for continued treatment of severe COVID-19.

Intriago was admitted to a hospital in Manta on Monday, December 14, local media reported. Intriago’s condition further deteriorated, and medical staff intubated him, according to the local government. A decision was made to transfer the mayor by vehicle to another facility in Guayaquil, Ecuador’s largest city.
