Mayor, 2 council seats up for vote in Dover election Tuesday

The mayor and one council member are facing challenges while two candidates are running for an open council seat in the Dover election Tuesday, April 18.

Two other council members are running unopposed.

Here’s what to know:

Who’s running for office?

Mayor – incumbent Robin Christiansen and challenger Diana Welch

Council, 1st District – incumbent Julia Pillsbury and challenger Paul Fleming.

Council, 2nd District – challengers Donyale Hall and Brian Lewis. This is an open seat after Councilman Ralph Taylor resigned in February.

Council, 3rd District – incumbent Tricia Arndt, unopposed.

Council, 4th District – incumbent Roy Sudler Jr., unopposed.

Where do I vote?

Dover Elks Lodge, 200 Saulsbury Road, between Forrest Avenue (Route 8) and Walker Road.

How long are the polls open?

From 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, April 18.

Am I qualified to vote?

To be eligible to vote, a person must be 18 or older on election day, must be a resident of the corporate limits of Dover and registered to vote with the Delaware Department of Elections.
