Update: There is a shortage of candidates in some York County municipal elections.

Several area communities still need someone to run for mayor or council seats, as candidates filing window closes.

Seven of nine York County municipalities will elect a new mayor this fall. All nine will pick new city or town council members. Neighboring areas in Lancaster and Chester counties have similar decisions. As the filing period nears an end for many of those areas, there are few contested races and several contests where no one is on the ballot.

Here’s a look at what offices come due this fall, in which communities, and the candidates running for them as of Monday morning.

Voting in Rock Hill comes Oct. 17. Everywhere else, it comes with the general election Nov. 7.

Information will be updated with new filings.
