Mays Landing man dies in crash on Atlantic City Expressway

HAMILTON - A Mays Landing man has died in a one-vehicle crash on the Atlantic City Expressway.

Jason Hefferon, 45, was driving a Jeep that left the westbound highway around 5:35 p.m. Saturday, March 25, according to New Jersey State Police.

The vehicle initially hit a guardrail on the right side of the expressway, then veered back to strike a concrete barrier on the left, police said.

Hefferon, who was raised in Hammonton, was the married father of two, according to an obituary.

He received a diploma for sound engineering from Full Sail University in Florida, then worked at a New York recording studio and the audio department of the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Miami.

Hefferon returned to South Jersey to work in his family's business, Master Wire Manufacturing, the obituary said.

The accident remains under investigation.
