This year, 2020, marks 100 years of Mazda. The company was founded in January 1920, and though it didn't produce its first car, the R360, until 1960, it's still celebrating with a collection of special anniversary edition cars. And yes, there's a Miata involved.

Mazda is introducing a 100th-anniversary Special Edition trim for every model in its lineup, from the Mazda3 hatch, to the CX-5 crossover, to the MX-5 Miata, and every car in between.

Paying homage to the R360 (shown above next to a 100th anniversary Miata), special-edition cars will get floor mats with bespoke badging, specialized embossed headrests, a 100th-anniversary front fender badge, 100th-anniversary wheel center caps, and a specially badged key fob. All 100th-anniversary cars will be painted in Snow Flake White Pearl Mica, with red interior carpeting throughout. The Miata will get a red folding top as standard.

Mazda says anniversary edition models "will be introduced in stages to markets around the globe," though according to Mazda's U.S. press site, availability in America has not yet been confirmed. As such, pricing for the special edition trims haven't been revealed. But if they do make it stateside, expect them to cost a few thousand bucks more than the standard variants.
