The aftermarket is a wonderful thing for car enthusiasts. It makes even the greatest cars even better. Take this sweet Mazda RX-7 wagon, for example.

From what we can gather, it's owned by Twitter user zunda_no_omochi, and it's about the coolest RX-7 we've ever seen. In addition to a widebody kit, a vented hood, a wild front bumper, and some sweet wheels, it also sports an awesome wagon-like trunk hatch.

The hatch is a rare piece made by Greddy, and according to the RX7Club.com forums, sells for around $1200 by itself on the used market. It's not exactly clear when Greddy stopped building them, or how many were built—though I'm betting the number is low. I haven't been able to locate one for sale, and only a few pictures of the piece fitted to cars (other than the one shown above) exist on the internet.

The hatch reminds me of the Corvette AeroWagon accessory sold by legendary Corvette tuning company Callaway. Like the Greddy RX-7 piece, it replaces the stock Corvette hatch to create a wagon-like roofline. From behind the wheel, it's a truly unique experience.

It's too bad more of these types of aftermarket hatches don't exist. They'd make the car world a much better place.
