McAlister's Deli opening Monday in Jackson Township with handcrafted sammies, sweet tea
JACKSON TWP. — McAlister's Deli, a national chain known for handcrafted sandwiches and sweet tea, will open Monday in the Belden Village area.
The restaurant will be at 5449 Dressler Road NW in the former Ruby Tuesday site near Chick-fil-A in front of the Belden Park Crossings plaza, which includes Fresh Thyme Market, Five Below and Value City Furniture.
McAlister's will be giving away "free tea for a year" to the first 97 guests in line during the grand opening celebration; a ribbon-cutting ceremony starts at 10 a.m.

"We look forward to welcoming the community to our restaurant and sharing our table together," David Blackburn, chief executive officer of Southern Rock Restaurants, said in a news release.
The Jackson site will be Southern Rock's 97th McAlister's Deli location.
Founded in 1989, McAlister's menu features club sandwiches, including orange cranberry, as well as a Reuben, jalapeno turkey crunch, four-cheese melt, spicy turkey melt, and steak and mushroom sandwiches.
Also on the menu are salads and giant stuffed potatoes covered with Angus roast beef, chipotle chicken or veggies.
The chain also touts its fresh-brewed black tea, which is Rainforest Alliance Certified and made with premium leaves and sweetened with pure cane sugar, according to the McAlister's Deli website.
Headquartered in Atlanta, the McAlister’s brand has more than 470 restaurants in 27 states. The chain describes McAlister's as "fast-casual" dining.
Founded in 2011, Southern Rock is based in Franklin, Tennessee, and operates McAlister's Deli restaurants in that state as well as in Mississippi, Missouri, Kentucky, Illinois and Indiana.
At the Stark County location, guests can dine inside, sit outdoors weather permitting, pick up carryout orders inside or use a pickup window, the news release said. Orders also can be placed using a digital app.
The Jackson Township restaurant, which McAlister's considers its North Canton site, will be open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
McAlister's also offers catering options, including breakfast snacks, spud bars, salads, sandwich trays, box lunches and desserts.
