State Sen. Sarah McBride, who is running for the U.S. House of Representatives, raised more than $360,000 in this quarter, her campaign announced Friday.

State housing director Eugene Young, who is also vying for the congressional seat, raised $180,000, campaign officials said.

McBride has raised a total of $770,000 since announcing in late June, which the campaign said includes 985 in-state donors. Campaign officials said this figure is about half of what U.S. Lisa Blunt Rochester raised in total in 2016, the last time there was an open seat.

If elected, McBride would become the first trans person elected to Congress. State treasurer Colleen Davis is also running in the Democratic primary. A campaign spokesperson could not be immediately reached on how much Davis has raised.

Campaign officials for Young said the candidate's fundraising haul "exceeded" the campaign's goal. About 80% of these donations, the campaign said, are from Delaware families, with donations averaging around $300.

The Young campaign announced just after its launch in late July that it raised $100,000 in 24 hours.

Blunt Rochester is running unopposed for the U.S. Senate, following U.S. Sen. Tom Carper’s announcement that he will retire at the end of his term. A campaign spokesman said Blunt Rochester raised more than $1 million in the third quarter.
