House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy says there is no reason to worry about a peaceful transition of power after the election. (Sept. 24)
- That's a concern that I have right now, are security and safety of the streets. There will be a smooth transition, and I believe President Trump will have a very good inaugural and will reunite this nation instead of radicalize this nation. Let me be very clear-- let me be very clear to you, let me be very clear to you. It'll be peaceful.
I know you want to create a hypothetical, and that's good for you, but-- no questions, no qualms, no concerns. It's going to be peaceful. This nation is designed that way, this nation will have it that way, and that's exactly what will take place.
- Then why won't he say that? Why won't the President say that, if that's the case?
- It's exactly what the President said before. There's no concern. So let me put it all to rest for all of you, it'll be a smooth transition, no concern on the outcome. Yes? -- asked that before, and he said it'd be a smooth transition. I know this will keep you up at night, but don't worry about it. It's going to be very smooth.
