Electric and hybrid vehicles were on display at the Monroe County Community College last year. On Oct. 15, the college is hosting its second annual Electric Vehicle Show to bring attention to the school's efforts to include EV service programs as part of its automotive maintenance classes.

Monroe County Community College will host an Electric Vehicle Show on Saturday, Oct. 15, on the college's Main Campus.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their personal electric vehicles for display and demonstration.

The college's Applied Sciences and Engineering Technology Division is coordinating the event to be held from 9 a.m. to noon at 1555 S. Raisinville Rd. The show is free and open to the public. It will be held in Parking Lot 2 in front of the Career Technology Center (Building T).

Parmeshwar (Peter) Coomar, dean of the ASET Division, said this year there may be some indoor presentations on topic of EVs. Those interested in bringing their car for display will need to fill out a form or contact Coomar.

For more information, Coomar at pcoomar@monroeccc.edu or 734-384-4209. Information also can be obtained through the ASET Division office at (734) 384-4112.

The college has for the past two years hosted electric vehicle shows. In April, the EV Show was held during the Earth Day Expo 2022 at MCCC. The first annual EV show, similar to this year's event, was held last year.
