The celebration had multiple food trucks and an animal adoption, which was followed by a live music concert and fireworks.

The event was open to the public.

Two food trucks were in the park. Pita Delite and Randy’s BBQ both participated in the event.

Ali Alaawar, the owner of Pita Delite, said the event was a great experience for his truck.

“It went well. I sold out, same as last year,” he said.

His truck has been in business since 2013 and serves Greek and Mediterranean food.

Alaawar said he is hoping to continue to attend the event in the coming years.

There was also a kitten adoption put on by the Greater Hillsdale Humane Society.

Joni Baker, director of the society, said that the event went well for the society as well.

“We had six kittens adopted,” Baker said.

Nitro Jen, a classic power rock band, played in the park’s pavilion before the firework show, which started at dark.

Little Miss Hillsdale County, Lennox LaBo, also attended the event. She participated in the McCourtie Park Market and sold baked goods and lemonade during the day and returned in the evening to sell glow sticks and necklaces.

Proceeds from the stand went to benefit Toys and Tots of Hillsdale County.

Many community members attended the events throughout the day and the firework show especially received a lot of crowd approval.
