McDonald’s brings back spicy fan favorite for a limited time. Here’s what to know

A McDonald’s fan favorite is back on menus, but not for long.

Spicy Chicken McNuggets are making a comeback at participating U.S. restaurants for a limited time, according to McDonald’s website.

A spin on the classic McNuggets, the spicy version has tempura breading spiced with cayenne and chili pepper. Customers can pick from four sizes: six, 10, 20 or 40 pieces.

The Spicy McNuggets debuted in 2020 as a limited-edition item, according to Mashed. They’ve amassed a fan following since, returning each year for month-long intervals, the outlet reported.

They were last offered in 2022, though only available at roughly half of McDonald’s restaurants nationwide, according to Eat This, Not That.

The fast-food giant confirmed the nuggets will return to select U.S. markets, including Seattle, Portland, Denver and New York City. It’s not clear how long they’ll be on the menu, however.

News of the Spicy McNuggets’ return drew frenzied reactions online.

Customers are encouraged to check the McDonald’s app to see if the Spicy McNuggets available at specific locations.
