McDonald’s introduces redesigned coffee cups to share COVID vaccine information

McDonald’s will soon be serving up support for the COVID-19 vaccine along with its coffee.

The popular fast-food chain will start in July to serve McCafé cups that feature the “We Can Do This” slogan, which was introduced by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to increase awareness and share information about the vaccinations.

The cups will also encourage people to visit vaccine.gov for more information as part of the restaurant’s partnership with the Biden Administration.

McDonald’s said the new design will be incorporated on the seal stickers that come on McDelivery orders as well.

“Getting vaccinated is easy. More than 150 million people have already gotten at least one dose of vaccine, and millions more are getting vaccinated every day,” Xavier Becerra, secretary of the health and human services organization, said in a statement.

“Thanks to McDonalds, people will now be able to get trusted information about vaccines when they grab a cup of coffee or order a meal. Ending this pandemic requires all of us working together to do our part, including encouraging our friends and family to get vaccinated. This effort will help more people make informed decisions about their health and learn about steps they can take to protect themselves and their communities.”

Later this month, McDonald’s will also start to share vaccine information on its billboard in Times Square.
