You Can Officially Try McDonald’s New Chicken Sandwich For Yourself
Update, February 26, 2021: The moment you've all been waiting for has arrived...the new chicken sandwiches are finally available nationwide at McDonald's drive-thrus. The beloved fast-food chain announced the upcoming launch of its chicken sandwich at the start of 2021 and now we can finally catch one at our local Mickey D's.
Chicken sandwiches have become available in so many different varieties over the last couple of years with almost every fast-food chain coming up with their own version. I'm lookin' right at you, Taco Bell chicken sandwich taco. McDonald's joined in on the trend and is serving up a new chicken sandwich in three different ways.
You can choose from the crispy chicken sandwich which simply includes the chicken patty and pickles or a roll, or you can opt for the spicy or deluxe version. The spicy version comes with a spicy pepper sauce along with the pickles on a roll while the deluxe version comes with shredded lettuce, tomatoes, and mayo.
Original Post, January 4, 2021: In case you thought we were leaving all Chicken Sandwich News in 2020 (or 2019 for that matter!), you were wrong! McDonald's has just surprised us on the first Monday of 2021 by announcing the impending arrival of a trio of chicken sandwich news that will have you feeling optimistic about this year already.
Technically, the beloved fast-food chain is adding one new chicken sandwich to its menu next month; its brand-new Crispy Chicken Sandwich. BUT! McDonald's is also serving the item up three different—but equally delicious—ways. First up will be the classic version, which is topped simply with crinkle-cut pickles and served on a new toasted, buttered potato roll.
Next is the one I assume you will all be ordering: the Spicy Chicken Sandwich. It's served with a Spicy Pepper Sauce and crinkle-cut pickles on a toasted potato roll. Finally, for those who are feeling a little bit extra, there is the Deluxe Chicken Sandwich. It's served with shredded lettuce, Roma tomatoes, and mayo.
"We’ve heard our customers loud and clear, and we know they’re craving more chicken options,” said Vice President of Menu Innovation Linda VanGosen in a release: “We’re confident all chicken fans–from traditionalists to spice enthusiasts–will discover a new menu favorite they’ll come back for time and time again.”
But don't go running to your local McDonald's quiteeee yet. These new sandwiches will be hitting locations nationwide beginning on February 24. So enjoy your Valentine's Day chocolate, but be ready to be in chicken sandwich heaven soon enough.
