McDonald's breakfast bagels are back in Michigan for a limited time

Breakfast bagels are back in action.

For a limited time in Michigan and Indiana, customers can order steak, egg and cheese; bacon, egg and cheese; and sausage, egg and cheese bagels at their local McDonald's.

That's despite assurances from McDonald's in January a reunion wasn't in the cards. Breakfast bagels disappeared from the menu amid the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2020 and, to the dismay of die-hard fans everywhere, never returned.

"It is with love and deep respect for one another that we announce that we are parting ways with Breakfast Bagels and Breakfast Wraps," the chain wrote in January. "Despite speculation and following a trial separation period, Breakfast Bagels and Breakfast Wraps will not be returning to the menu.

"We adore each other deeply but our love for the iconic McMuffin was simply too hard to ignore."

The reunion in Michigan started in the southwest portion of the state, but a media contact confirmed Thursday the bagels are now available statewide. In Holland, we can confirm the bagels weren't yet listed on food ordering apps, but were available in-person.
