McDonald's offers 10 McRib NFTs for 40th anniversary

McDonald's is getting into the NFT space with a McRib promotion.

BRIAN SOZZI: All right, it's getting a little weird out there in crypto land. And we aren't talking about the apparent scam that was the Squid Games crypto. Yahoo Finance's crypto reporter Jennifer Schonberger is back with the details on this. Jen.

JENNIFER SCHONBERGER: Hey, there, Brian. A number of zany headlines crossing in the crypto space. Want to win some crypto? Well, Burger King is teaming up with trading app Robinhood to offer loyalty club users the chance to win Dogecoin, Bitcoin, and Ethereum. In all, 2.6 million coins up for grabs. All you have to do to enter to win is spend a minimum of $5 at Burger King now through November 21st.

And in other fast food chain crypto news, McDonald's bringing back that McRib sandwich. And in honor of the sandwich's 40th anniversary, McDonald's is offering 10 McRib NFTs. All you have to do to enter to win there is visit McDonald's Twitter page and retweet the invitation now through November 7th.

And you talked about Squid. There is some news out today the developers of that cryptocurrency project, Squid, which was inspired by the Netflix TV series "Squid Game," have quit the project after the cryptocurrency plummeted to nearly zero after rising more than 35,000% in the past three days. So let that be a lesson on speculating in the crypto space.
