MD Environmentalists Target Net-Zero Greenhouse Gas Emissions

ANNAPOLIS, MD — With lawmakers back in Annapolis, legislative session is in full swing. Maryland environmentalists have their sights set on a greener future for the state. Their goals are to:

Supporters will gather virtually Tuesday to discuss these aspirations. The event, dubbed the 27th Annual Environmental Legislative Summit, lasts from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Interested attendees can sign up for free at this link.

Guest speakers will include:

  • Senate President Bill Ferguson

  • Senior Advisor to the Governor Andrew Cassilly

  • Senate Education, Health, and Environmental Affairs Chair Paul Pinsky

  • House Environment and Transportation Committee Chair Kumar Barve

Speakers include representatives from the:

  • NAACP

  • Chesapeake Climate Action Network

  • Labor Network for Sustainability

  • Maryland League of Conservation Voters

  • Maryland Pesticide Education Network

  • Environment Maryland

  • Trash Free Maryland

  • Maryland PIRG

  • Natural Resources Defense Council

The conference was organized by Citizens Campaign for the Environment, a coalition of several environmental groups.
